A beautiful song about children growing up so fast. Written by the wonderful and so honest Malvina Reynolds. Made famous by Harry Belefonte .Applies to sons and daughters and is just so heartbreakingly true in my experience.

I was looking for a version of this song to post on my facebook, and this is such a sincere, heartfelt rendition. My son just walked out the door to head to college, and I just keep playing this over and over. Where does the time go? Why doesn’t anyone prepare us for this season? Thank you for making this!

With this song, I feel that I am on the other side. I have been planning my wedding, and this is the song I have choosen to share a dance with my dad. When I heard it, I thought of how he was always my rock when I was growing and how proud I was to have him watching me every step of the way as I grew up. Just the thought of dancing with him one last time, hearing this song brings tears to my eyes.
