It is possible to play Guitar Hero III with out a Guitar controller on Wii. You can use the wiimote (the skinny one). I have tried this and with in a day I wanted the guitar. It is really hard without the guitar. References : i have a wii and Guitar hero III

It is possible to play with out the guitar but it is extremely hard.
also whats the point of GUITAR hero if your not using a guitar.

ok, you can use the wii-remote, but you will only find yourself bored and annoyed…
