Hello! I am so excited to answer a softball pitching question! I have been pitching for about 4 years now and I pitch about 55 mph.
I have worked very hard and pitch every sunday… so one thing you need to do is make sure you take time to pitch about 2 hours every weekend at least and about 30 min each weekday.
I have a pitching coach that I go to and if you can afford or find one I would advise you to take pitching lessons.
If you want to throw faster, you need to lift wweights Doing ppush upshelp a lot to. Also, if you take a softball and nail 10-20 small nails into the softball to make it heavier and throw that for at least 10 min. during each workout, that will ddefinitelyincrease arm speed.
Make sure you keep up your arm speed also. That is very important. If you are 12-15 make sure you are not hurting your shoulder. I recently hurt my shoulder even though I have been pitching for quite some time. Try some shoulder strengtheners or something along those lines.
these videos will probably help…

If you’re not currently working with a pitching coach, get one if you can afford one. My daughter is 12 and throws around 48 mph, her coach charges $30 per 1/2hr. Here is a link if you’re interested.

A pitching coach can offer things that will totally unlock your potential, but be careful when using weighted balls. By going too heavy too fast, you can really screw yourself up. You need to have solid mechanics before using them.
If you can’t or don’t want to use a coach, make sure you are using your legs to explode off the rubber. Using your legs makes going fast easier. In your garage or basement, hang up and throw into a blanket to practice at home.
