i totally agree …
i totally agree with you. Although I don’t like the fact that no one knows that this is the first version (and I think the music industry system wanted us to think that Tina sang it first), I do believe that Tina’s version is WAY too much better: it’s mazing. Not only Tina’s perfomance is stunning, but the whole production, the sound of the song is so much fresher, that makes Tyler’s version sound too old, although it’s just one year earlier…

This song was written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight. Bonnie was the first one releasing the song, and it was good. When Tina sang it, it wasn’t just good… it was awesome. I mean, everything was perfect. When you ask anyone, who sang “The Best”, the answer will be: Tina Turner!! It’s her song, she made it famous. If she would not sing it, it would not be an internatinal anthem!!

So tenors can’t show emotion? Your screen name obviously shows you have a bias. I’m a Tina fan and love Tina’s. Bonnie’s is great but I didn’t feel she showed any emotion. You can hear raw emotion in Tina’s voice when she sings it. Just listen to when Tina sings, “Tear us apart…oh no, baby I’d rather be dead.” Please the influx of Tina’s vocal tones and phrasing are superior to Bonnie’s.

This was a wonderful thing to see that Bonnie Tyler recorded this song first. She sounds good. Why was it not a hit. Now Tina Turner’s version was just brilliant. The video with her and the horse, stunning. Their voices sounds similar they should record this or another song together. Many people have recorded this song, Celine Dion, Wyonona and they all say a Tina Turner Classic not a Bonnie Tyler Classic, Tina has re done songs by many artists, since Ike and Tina Days. Thanks.
