So you’ve got your shiny new guitar and you’ve decided to learn this instrument without the assistance of a private teacher. The good news is this can most certainly be done! Some of the greatest guitarists in the world were self taught. Ever heard of Jimmi Hendrix or Eric Clapton? This is just two examples that illustrate that you can become a truly proficient guitarist alone!
So what does it take to go beyond the rudimentary playing to true proficiency? Well for starters it takes time. Make no mistake about it. If it were that easy, everyone would be jamming in a band! Realize that it won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.
