How has Greece made such a turn around?

Posted on August 29th, 2009 by admin in turn around | 5 Comments »

It used to be one of the poorest countries in Europe, but now it’s easily one of the richest, it’s GDP per capital is only just below Australia.

Greece = $33,004
Australia = $33,037

I’m assuming the turn around came when they joined the EU, but can anything give any other reasons as to the dramatic turn around. It’s weird how loads of Greeks left for a better life in Australia, and now Greece is almost better off than Australia.

Nice try! You almost got me there. And I was about to feel so proud…!

In 2006:
Australia: 33.030 USD per capita
Greece: 24.000 USD per capita

What I love the most? that most fellow Greeks here forgot we are poor and try to explain how comes and we are so rich…:).

There’s a hero,
If you look inside your heart,
You don’t have to be afraid of what you are.
[eoghan]

There’s an answer,
If you reach into your soul,
And the sorrow that you know will melt away.
[girl band]

And then a hero comes along,
With the strength to carry on,
And you cast your fears aside,
And you know you can survive.
[alexandra]

So when you feel that hope is gone,
Look inside you and be strong,
And you’ll finally see the truth,
[laura and scott]

That a hero lies in you.
[diana]

It’s a long road,
When you face the world along,
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold,
[jls]

You can find love,
When you search within yourself,
And the emptiness you felt will disappear.
[austin, and a bit bad lashes]

And then a hero comes along,
With the strength to carry on,
[Laura]

And you cast your fears aside,
And you know you can survive.
[girl band]

So when you feel that hope is gone,
Look inside you and be strong,
And you’ll finally see the truth,
That a hero lies in you.
[alexandra]

Oohh
Lord knows,
Dreams are hard to follow,
[rachel]

You don’t let anyone take them away,
Hold on,
[girl band]

There will be tomorrow,
[alexandra]

In time you’ll find the way.
[alexandra and austin]

And then a hero comes along,
With the strength to carry on,
And you cast your fears aside,
And you know you can survive.
So when you feel that hope is gone,
Look inside you and be strong,
And you’ll finally see the truth,
That a hero lies in you.
That a hero lies in you.
Ooh
That a hero lies in you.

What is my vocal range?

Posted on August 29th, 2009 by admin in total eclipse of the heart music | 1 Comment »

Would you be able to tell me my vocal range from the songs I’ve listed below? I don’t have a piano to test my range. Thanks!

Songs I sing comfortably are:
Peggy Lee: He’s A Tramp, Why Don’t Ya Do Right
HAIR: Good Morning Starshine
Over the Rainbow

Songs I can belt:
Chicago: All that Jazz, Funny Honey
What a Feeling (Flashdance)
FAME
Total Eclipse of the Heart
Def Leppard: Love Bites, Pour Some Sugar on Me
Taylor Dayne: Tell It To My Heart
Gloria Gainor: I Will Survive
Alanis Morrisette: You Oughta Know
Heart: Never
A Chorus Line: Dance Ten, Looks Three; The Music and The Mirror; What I Did for Love
Guns N Roses: Sweet Child O Mine

"Hit or Miss" songs: Higher end of range
Kelly Clarkson – A Moment Like This, Behind These Hazel Eyes
Little Mermaid – Part of Your World
Donna Summer – Last Dance

"Hit or Miss" songs: Lower end of range
Chicago – When You’re Good to Mama
HAIR – Aquarius
Is there at least a site where I can find out what the vocal ranges are for each of the songs I listed? Then I can figure it out myself.

you are probably a contralto or mezz-soprano. judging by the list, most of these songs don’t go much above a C(over middle C). if you find yourself to be more comfortable the lower you go, I’d say contralto. if you’re on the higher end of most of these songs mezzo-soprano.

i need to know

1984 as part of the soundtrack for the movie "Footloose"

My tongue pushed my cheek out and went up and down to the rhythm of a Guitar Hero song. Why?

Posted on August 29th, 2009 by admin in i need a hero song | 2 Comments »

My brother noticed that while I was playing Bowser’s Wrath (a hard custom Guitar Hero Metallica song), my tongue rubbed up and down against my cheek. After he told me, I started noticing, and I laughed very hard afterwards.
Anyway, why does this happen?

your just getting into the rhythm of the song

Best point and shoot digital camera for low-light or night photography?

Posted on August 29th, 2009 by admin in faster than the speed of night | 7 Comments »

I’m looking for a good quality, point and shoot compact digital camera that excells at taking photographs at night or under low-light conditions. I know all about using high ISO and fast shutter speed but many digital cameras cannot process low-light images quickly or have autofocus problems in low-light. I’ve tried several Kodak and Sony models so far but they’re very bad. Can anyone help???

I’ve had similar problems with Kodak digital cameras - autofocus for a few models I’ve tried is slow and indecisive in low light or night photography. Most compact point and shoot cameras are notoriously slow to process photos.

A few tips on buying a camera for taking photos at night:

1. You want a camera with ISO capability of 800 or higher.
2. Adjustable autofocus and preset to 3 meters or more.
3. Adjustable white balance.

Most compact digital cameras come have resolutions of 6MP or more. When shooting at night… or anytime where quick processing is needed… reduce the the resolution down to 4 or 5MP.

A few digital camera brands seem to be better than others but Canon seems to make very good compact digital cameras.

Finally… While compact digital cameras are very convenient, they simply cannot beat the performance of a digital SLR. If you’re serious about taking photos, I’d just bite the bullet… sacrifice the convenience and affordability and get an SLR.

do you need a remote control for all pieces of guitar hero game for the wii?

Posted on August 29th, 2009 by admin in i need a hero | 2 Comments »

I have 2 remotes to cover the guitar and the drum set, do I need a remote for the microphone too when using all 3 pieces at the same time for guitar hero on wii?

You need a remote in each guitar and the drum set, and then you will need another for the singer, but it doesn’t actually go in the microphone. So for 4 people you will need 4 wii remotes. Basically every player needs a wii remote.
